Jon Michael Hill (BFA ’07 Studio Acting) was nominated for the 2025 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for Purpose. Hill plays Nazareth, the youngest son who returns home with an unexpected guest, thrusting the influential Jasper family into a profound confrontation with its beliefs, its past, and the weight of its public identity.
Purpose is running through July 6 at the Helen Hayes Theater after receiving its world premiere last year at Steppenwolf in Chicago.
This is Hill’s second Tony nomination and one of six 2025 Tony Award nominations for the Broadway show Purpose, including Best Play. Jon Michael Hill was featured in the Chicago Sun Times last October.
