Too Cool To Cry
From Jaylon: “To summarize the work, students were asked to submit a photo and an abstract about the research they conducted this semester. The photo and abstract that shows the most cohesiveness, creativity, and clarity is chosen as winners. My piece is called Too Cool to Cry, which discusses how emotional repression is prevalent in the lives of young black men. The mural was created by Langston Allston, photographer is Tony Garcia (from the sophomore BFA Acting Class), and the professor/sponsor is Dr. Kemal Nance!”
Jaylon’s work will be featured at the Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 28 at the Illini Union. The 2nd place prize also included a monetary award.
