About Cynthia Kocher
Biography
Cynthia Kocher is the Chair of the BFA and MFA Stage Management Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies for Illinois. Previously, she taught in the Stage Management Program at the University of Miami in Florida and was the Associate Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts. Her Broadway stage management credits include August Wilson’s King Hedley II, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and Regina Taylor’s Drowning Crow. Regionally, she has worked at theatres such as the Goodman Theatre, McCarter Theatre, Trinity Repertory Company, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre, Connecticut Repertory, and Westport Playhouse. She has also worked at various opera companies including the Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, the Florida Grand Opera, and the Opera Festival of New Jersey. Cynthia holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and is a member of the Actors’ Equity Association.
