After an extensive six-month search with thousands of voice actors auditioning, Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon and showrunner Scott Marder selected two new voices to voice the iconic title characters after the original voice (and co-creator), Justin Roiland, was ousted. Morty will be voiced by U of I Theatre alumnus, Harry Belden. The Hollywood Reporter article, “How ‘Rick and Morty’ Cast Its New voice Stars,” explicitly mentions the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and features an interview with Harmon and Marder where they discuss the process of finding new voices.
