Illinois Theatre students traveled to Purdue University to compete in the 2023 Stage Machine Design Competition. This year’s challenge, focused on the childhood board game Guess Who?, challenged student teams to design a machine for an upcoming museum event centered around family game night in which children could flip 3′ by 5′ panels. The Illinois Theatre team advised by Bobby Reynolds and consisting of Hanna Bowen, Matt Grenier, Jesse McKenzie, and Raven Shales won Best Overall for their design, as well as Best Proposal, Most Effective Design, and Best Manual.
