About Lisa Fay
Biography
Lisa Fay is an originating composing and performing theatre artist known for applying complex formal structures to the narratives of daily life in order to ask radical questions. The results, ranging from humorous and disarming to mesmerizing and disorienting, arise as metaphors for social processes. She works as an independent artist performing, composing, and teaching locally, nationally, and internationally—a practice that has extended over 35 years. She is an artist in residence, engaged in a creative residency, at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts with Fay|Glassman Performance. Additionally, Fay|Glassman Performance is a resident theatre company of the Prop Thtr in Chicago. At the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Fay directs the INNER VOICES Social Issues Theatre program and ensemble, a vibrant ensemble of artists who work to generate changes they wish to see.
