I am a revolutionary artist who leads with the stories of my ancestors. Stories that represent life, resilience, struggle, perseverance, power, love and most importantly, joy. I want to be a vessel and a voice for my ancestors, especially for those who had to endure and overcome adversities. Additionally, I am a collaborative artist that promotes and advocates for an inclusive environment where community and creativity can soar. Lastly, and most importantly, I am an unapologetic, educated, trained, and a multihyphenated black artist who is excited for the journey that is yet to come. My name is Y’vonne Rose Smith.
