My name is David Sommer (he/him). As a queer and Jewish multimedia artist, I seek collaborations exploring diverse identities and perspectives, especially those of marginalized genders and BIPOC individuals. Raised by rabbis, storytelling is my passion— my mission is to explore the absurdities of everyday life, aiming to inspire authentic, and challenging transformation.

David Sommer (he/him) is a senior pursuing a BFA in acting at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His recent theatre credits with Illinois Theatre include Airness (D Vicious), Rent (Benny), and Varslaren: The Whistleblower (devisor & u/s). David has also played with Illini Student Musicals in Little Women (Professor Bhaer), and The Armory Free Theatre in The Moors (The Mastiff), Stupid Fucking Bird (Trigorin), and So You Think You Can Stay? (Security/Crew). This past summer David played the Station Theater in Ride the Cyclone (Mischa). David loves to act, direct, sing and make art of all kinds. He plans to graduate from UIUC and continue to play and create in the professional world. A huge thank you to David’s family, friends and teachers who help him learn and grow.
